Brian Lara Cricket Academy is among those West Indies cricket grounds that were built for World Cup 2007. Still, unfortunately, unlike Sir Vivian Richard Stadium and Daren Sammy Stadium, this ground was not prepared within the deadline. Brian Lara Cricket Academy Trinidad is a multipurpose sports stadium that hosts cricket events and other events in Trinidad & Tobago. This academy was inaugurated in 2017 and since then it has hosted many cricket matches along with 3 consecutive CPL finals.
History behind name
This cricket ground is named after Legendary West Indies cricket star Brian Lara, considered one of the greatest batsmen ever to step onto the ground. He was the one who changed the perspective of playing cricket. He was the most aggressive batsman at that time and he belongs to the Trinidad & Tobago cricket team too (actually he captained this team just at the age of 20) so to appreciate his efforts this academy was named after him.
