ICC Announced Women’s Player of the Month for Feb 2024

Sutherland The outstanding all-rounder from Australia has been selecte as the February 2024 ICC Women’s Player of the Month.

After Alyssa Healy, Rachael Haynes, Tahlia McGrath, and Ashleigh Gardner, Annabel Sutherland became the sixth player from Australia to earn the ICC Women’s Player of the Month Award.

Sutherland defeated Esha Oza and Kavisha Egodage of the United Arab Emirates to win the prized title.

When the 22-year-old received her first Player of the Month award, she was overjoye.

It was truly remarkable to be able to contribute to winning that match, and test cricket is always a highlight.

Sutherland helped Australia win the ODI series, which the hosts won 2-1, prior to the Test series. The adaptable all-rounder made significant runs in addition to taking two wickets.

After such success bowling, Sutherland put on an incredible batting display, dominating the game with a quick double century.

She beat fellow Australian Karen Rolton (306 balls) to reach this milestone in just 248 balls, setting a new record for the fastest double century in women’s cricket.

As the sixth Australian woman overall and the ninth woman to achieve a double hundred in a Test match, Sutherland joined an elite group.

Sutherland was finally out of the game for 210, three runs short of Ellyse Perry’s 213*, which stands as the greatest Australian score in Women’s Test Cricket history.
